Two Necessary Tips to Get Playing Guitar Fast
Make sure you read these tips before you pick up your guitar again...
1) Make sure that your fretting hand is aligned properly by placing your thumb on the center of the neck. Back when I was just beginning to play, I didn't realize it at first, but my thumb would be wrapped around the neck, which made it incredibly hare to move my fingers quickly or change positions.2) The last tip has to do with your holding your pick correctly. Make sure that you are holding your pick just tight enough not to lose it but where you can still feel the vibration of the strings while you play. Hold it at a slant towards the strings. I can assure you that this will allow you to feel what you are playing better, giving you much better picking accuracy when you play.

The reason why you can't play guitar the way you want to is because you obviously haven't found the best techniques and haven't practiced them for a little while...I used to subscribe to the Guitar Player magazine and like every week there would be some top shredder guy telling me a new technique that guaranteed to improve my playing. I tried almost every single one of them, but they never really helped a whole lot. Each involved learning different scales, chord progressions, finger picking techniques, blahblahblah and so on... But I eventually ran across the easiest , and by far the most effective method to improve my playing.

But it sure seems like it
Just why is it so hard to play guitar? I mean there are tons of books and DVDs out there that are there to help you play better. But still, most people end up putting down their guitar to collect dust.But I realized why it is so hard for someone to learn how to play really well. I believe that it is because it fees more natural to grip your guitars neck to tightly, which makes it much more difficult to place your fingers where they need to go. It also makes it hard to play those chords that require a little more stretching.
