What method should I use to learn to play guitar?
Sore and cramping fingers, struggling to read music and painstakingly slow progress is just some of the frustrations that I felt after 3 one on one lessons.
Thanks to my impatient nature, I decided to look for an easier way. It was either that, or I was going to sell my guitar on Ebay!
I spent hours on online guitar forums and really did my homework - and decided on buying a course from a guy called Mike Hayes. His course is called Express Guitar and received rave reviews across the net - and was well priced to boot.
Mike Hayes, I found out, is not only a great teacher, but also an accomplished musician that has played with the best.
I have been using Express Guitar for a month now and I'm already impressing friends and family - at least that's what they say :)
I'm so excited about my progress learning to play the guitar fast, that I decided to make a lens to tell others about this amazing method!

Warning: Do NOT buy any guitar course unless it meets the following 6 critera
1. The author is a professional. Why would you want to learn from an amateur or from someone who can't even play the guitar? Be sure the author of your course is a guitar-playing professional.2. The author is a professional guitar instructor. Nothing takes the place of experience. Express Guitar is based on 30+ years of experience, successfully teaching others how to play the guitar.
3. The course gets you playing right away. Within minutes with Express Guitar, you'll be picking and strumming.
4. The course teaches the right way to practice. You see, you play like you practice. So if you're doing it wrong, you'll play it wrong. That's why I emphasize this point in the course.
5. The course doesn't depend on "tabs" - the 400-year-old approach to play guitar.
6. The course teaches you exciting lead guitar techniques including hammer ons, pull offs, bending, sliding harmonic's and flashy leads to blow your audience away.

... apart from being a very accomplished performer, Mike has all of the teaching skills, and most importantly of all ... he has the ability to pass them on!
A motto that's stood me in good stead throughout my life has been "You can't learn flying from a guy who has never been off the ground" and I can assure you that Mike has really been off the ground, and I'm sure that you will benefit from his skills."

Interesting Guitar Trivia and Facts
Is it true you can play the guitar both ways, as in use both hands?Guitars are available in right-handed and left-handed versions, so that right or left handed people can play them. Some players can also take a right-handed guitar and play it left-handedly without changing the strings: Paul McCartney is said to have impressed John Lennon by doing this the first time they met.
How many strings are on a guitar?
The guitar is a musical instrument with ancient roots that is used in a wide variety of musical styles. It typically has six strings, but four, seven, eight, ten, and twelve string guitars also exist.
How many frets are there on a guitar?
Classical guitars generally have 19, but can have more. Electric guitars usually have more.
What was unique about Jimi Hendrix's favorite guitar?
It was a right-handed guitar played left-handed..
In which country did the guitar originate?
The guitar's roots are in Spain. Realistically, it cannot be traced back further than the 15th Century. It is thought to have been invented by the people of Malaga. This early instrument was a 'four course' guitar, from which the ukulele is derived. The first guitars were very small, and were originally strung with four pair of strings. Ancient Egypt had a stringed instrument that looked much like our modern guitar.Instruments identical to the guitar can also be found, for example, in the tomb of a Pharaoh dating Back to 9500 BC.
How did the guitar get its name?
The name guitar is a corruption of a name kithara used over 2000 years ago for an Ancient Greek instrument. The kythara was an advanced sort of lyre, with seven strings attached to a sound box at one end. There were two curving necks with a cross bar between them. The strings were attached to the cross bar. The strings were plucked, but it was not possible to finger them, so each string only produced a single note.
