When you Learn to Pole DanceGrab the pole and start at the back side of the pole, your inside foot should be close to the base. Use your strong hand to grab the pole, approximately at your head height. Now, allow your arm to straighten, so that your weight is actually hanging away from the pole.
Step around by keeping your outside leg straight. Now, swing it out to one side and step continuously around the pole by parallel pivoting on the inside of your foot. Now, allow your knee to bend little as you turn.
Hook it with your leg. Now, place your outside foot just behind the other foot. Transfer weight to the back foot and at the same time, hook your inside leg circling the front of the pole. Get a good grip just behind the knee.
To finish it off, arch your body towards the back. Lower your hand and allow a deeper arch. This is exactly where the flexibility comes. Arch your back just as far as you can feel comfortable. Making sure that the grip with your leg and your hand is good.
