Salsa Dance

Salsa dancing has roots in the Caribbean, Latin, and North America and originated through a wide variety of dances. The Mambo is probably the most widely known, but there are other recognized Cuban dance forms as well.

One of the most interesting aspects of salsa dancing is the fact that improvisation is fairly common since partner exchanges are very frequent. This keep the dances exciting for both the dancers and the viewers.

Salsa is also a dance that takes place in a certain select spot instead of occurring across the mass of the dance floor. The dancers will normally stay in a fixed area and will rotate around each other, which also makes salsa dancing a great choice for social settings. It's rude to take up too much dance floor when other dancers want to have some fun too.

Salsa is basically the Mambo, except modernized, but it's not certain on where the dance originated. It's debated that Salsa comes from Cuba or Puerto Rico which is one of the main dances in both regions.
