Learn to Sing Well Even If You Can't Afford A Voice Coach

Here's 2 Great Ideas!

Perhaps you can start at your local library. I recently borrowed a book called "Singing for Dummies" by Pamelia S. Phillips. It is an excellent book with some great information and it won't cost you a dime, unless of course you don't return it on time. If you've ever read any of the "For Dummies" series of books, I'm sure you'll agree that they are well researched and their quality is first rate.

There are other less expensive alternatives as well, that can help you, such as online singing programs. For under a $100 you can download a program instantly to your computer that you can access anytime, at your own convenience that was created specifically to teach people like you and me to learn to sing well!

Learn To Sing Well But Be Willing To Sound Bad

Expect A Learning Curve

In order to sound good you need to be willing to sound bad. What do I mean by that? Well just as we all can learn much from our mistakes, it is important to try new things so that we can learn what sounds good and what doesn't.

For example, in time you will probably want to learn how to sing harmony. Most singers do. I consider singing harmony my forte. But, I don't know of anyone who didn't experience a learning curve while learning how to sing harmony. And trust me when I say there can be some really strange notes while searching for the correct ones. lol

Practice, Practice, Practice

Overcome Your Obstacles

If you were in Real Estate you would know that the most important thing is location, location, location. When it comes to singing well the most important thing is practice, practice, practice!

This is how you will overcome all of the obstacles to learning how to sing well. By practicing often and repeating the songs you plan to sing, you will learn how much air you will need to take into your lungs for each line of the songs. I'm sure you've heard the ol' cliché "practice makes perfect." Well this applies to you as a singer.

The more time you spending practicing, the more it will show in your performance(s). You will become more confident and when people are confident they stand up just a little bit straighter, which will improve your singing posture and so your success will build on itself. Can you see how one thing leads to another and before you know it, you will be proud of your singing skills.

Learn To Sing Well - Let's Summarize

Here's What To Do

So let's summarize what I've said here so that you can keep these thoughts in your mind a little longer.

1) Consider getting a book, a program or a voice coach depending on your finances and your seriousness for improvement

2) Be willing to sound bad so that you can sound good later. Of course, don't experiment while you're on stage with a mic in your hand.

3) Practice, Practice, Practice. This is a major key to your success. If you don't practice, you WILL not... you CAN not learn to sing well. It's as simple as that.
