Can A "Learn To Speak Spanish CD" Really Help You Speak Spanish?

Looking for a sure-fire way to learn Spanish? Many people are curious about the learn to speak Spanish CD courses that are available. Do they really work? Well, actually, for someone looking for a fast and easy way to start speaking Spanish, they're a great breakthrough to learning.

Learn To Speak Spanish CD Courses Are NOT Like High School

Do you remember the days of sitting in your high school Spanish class trying to learn a language that was completely foreign to you? If you're one of the lucky ones, everything you learned "stuck" and you can confidently speak in Spanish. However, if you're like the many people, you probably remember just a few words or phrases.

The problem wasn't you. More than likely the problem was the way you were trying to learn the language. Conjugating verbs, flash cards to learn vocabulary...you may have learned some of the language, but did you actually learn how to speak Spanish?

Why CD Courses Are A Great Way To Learn To Speak Spanish

Think about this for a moment. How did you learn to speak your first words? I'm willing to bet you weren't handed a flash card with a pretty picture and the name of the image printed underneath. You learned by hearing the spoken word and then repeating it. That's how babies learn; it's intuitive. You certainly didn't learn to speak your native language AND learn to read, the rules of grammar, and proper pronunciation all at the same time!

Plus, listening to Spanish words and phrases are crucial for learning correct pronunciation. When speaking in Spanish, even if you know the correct word to use, if you're not comfortable with the pronunciation your confidence level will fly right out the window. But with a learn to speak Spanish CD course, you can listen over and over again as you practice the pronunciation until you get it right.

And if you're an auditory learner - you learn best through hearing as opposed to reading - you already have an advantage when it comes to learning to speak foreign languages. Since you have an "ear" for learning new concepts, listening to a CD helps you learn even faster.

What To Look For In A Learn To Speak Spanish CD

There are many learn to speak Spanish CD courses to choose from so the question is, how do you know which one to choose?

The best CD courses have interactive exercises that help you learn through hearing words and then repeating them. This is accomplished by listening to actual conversations (though very basic in the beginning) rather than isolated words. They incorporate fun, stimulating games that focus on vocabulary, recognizing sounds, and correct pronunciation. Understanding verb tenses can be challenging, so the best CDs have an interactive module for grammar as well.

And if you find a course that offers a written transcript to go along with the lesson, that's an added bonus.
