Leather Clad Squids ~ Rockin' The Right Brain

Who are the Leather Clad Squids? If you don't know by now, you will soon. We are the rockinest coaching group this side of anywhere.

Part of team WiWon, Leather Clad Squids is a group dedicated to helping its members reach that coveted Giant and/or Giant 100 status. Through a group effort we will help each other reach our goals and......here's the best part......ready?.....have a blast getting there!

The Wonder Squids

The 2nd quarter of 2009 Giant Challenge was a special affair indeed. In case you weren't paying attention, WiWonder knocked the socks off of everyone in the Quest for Giant by out producing the other teams by a wide margin.

Now, through a wise choice on your part, you are a member of this outstanding team driven by the desire of excellence in lenscrafting, model teamworking, camradrie, and Michelle's whip!

Hats off to Willow for her supreme leadership and the genuine heartfelt desire to see you succeed.

Our Quest

You're mission, strike that, Our mission (I too am in this challenge) , is to reach either Giant Status or Giant 100 status by September 30, 2009.

How are we going to do that? The keyword is WE. We are going to employ the great foundations of community support that was designed and polished during the 2nd Quarter of 2009 Giant challenge, and this time it gets even better; coaching is a shared experience which means we can work in smaller groups.

Here's how will travel or path:

1) Lens Reviews
we will be reviewing each others lenses for good points and (gasp!) weak points
2) Resources
Not only do we have the luxury of having some of the brightest and best lensmasters available for questions and support, but a reference library is being built
3) Energy
We will feed off each other, keep each other from burning out, and lift each other by all of us carrying part of the load of the group.

Right Brain ~ Left Brain

I am a "Right Brain" kinda guy. I love creativity and those ideas or concepts that will make people sit up and say, WTF? Edgy, almost to the point of shocking. I am always looking for those things that stop people dead in their tracks. Good or bad, these things work. They grab the reader's attention. They will most often get them to take a second look; you know, like watching a train wreck through your open fingers. It's the second look where you get a chance to reel them in.

More than any other media, the internet, assaults our brain with a constant stream of informations, images, and sounds. We look at hundreds, maybe thousands of pages a day, and a good amount of this info is stored away in the filing cabinet of our objective "Left Brain". When we start seeing things that are similar, they begin having less and less impact on us. But, if we run across something that sticks out, or jolts us, our subjective "Right Brain" kicks in and say,"Oh cool!."

This is how we can make a difference. Trying new things, ideas or topics. I am not advocating you give up your niche, but I'd like you all to take your rain coats off before you get in the shower. Just once, pretty please?

You

This is all about you. Leather Clad Squids want to see you succeed, WiWon wants to see you succeed, the Giant Community Organizers want to see you succeed, Squidoo wants to see you succeed, and most of all, you want to succeed.

You have talent in lenscrafting, otherwise you wouldn't be here reading this.You are driven to create 50 or 100 lenses that are of the highest quality. I applaud you for this (hear it?). But, we all have flaws that we know about and strengths that we don't tout.

There is nothing wrong with either of those, in fact, if you think you're perfect you can walk. There is no room for people who lie to themselves and/or us in Leather Clad Squids.

Otherwise, use the Plexos below to let us know some of your lenscrafting flaws and strengths. We will be attentive to your flaws and suck you dry using your strengths.

Just remember, we are all in this together.

Your Dirty Secrets

Go ahead and add to this list some of the flaws you think you have. Stop that! I don't mean anything like snoring or picking your nose in public...sheeesh....lenscrafting flaws are what we are looking for here.

This will give us an idea where we think we can help you or get help for you (if you're not beyond hope), if not fodder for the rumor mill.
