If you are looking for the most durable and easy to care for leather motion sofa, there are two things you need to consider. You need to get a high quality motion system (the inside parts of the sofa that allow it to recline) and a high quality leather.

If you want to get a high quality motion system, you will have to pay a decent amount for it. You cannot expect to get a cheap leather motion sofa that works well and lasts a long time. A cheap motion system will not recline with a smooth motion and will be noisy as well, so be sure to test out any leather motion sofa before buying it. You also want to make sure that it is comfortable, and check to see that the construction is well done, as you would with any sofa.

Unless you happen to get lucky and find a really good sale, a leather motion sofa will be pretty expensive, at least if you get one made with the high quality protected aniline leather recommended above. A leather motion sofa made with a lesser quality leather will be less expensive, but also less durable, so you have to decide whether it is worth the money to get a higher quality and longer lasting leather motion sofa or if you are willing to settle for one that might not last as long.
