Leather Lingerie

Leather should be regularly cleaned. One possibility is to take leather goods to a cleaner experienced in the care of leather goods to have it cleaned.

When cleaning leather don't use strong detergents. Use a product that helps preserve the leather's natural lubricating oils rather than strip them away.

Urine can damage leather. If you do not have leather cleaner handy, immediately wash out urine with warm water and mild soap such as baby shampoo and let air dry.

Some lingerie is made from imitation leather or PVC Lingerie. There are many advantages to PVC Lingerie:

PVC lingerie is usually less expensive.

PVC lingerie may be easier to care for.

Some people prefer the wet look of PVC lingerie to leather.

If you are looking for real leather be certain the lingerie you buy uses the term leather in the description. Terms like PVC, Vinyl, Faux (faux means 'false' in French language, so faux leather means imitation leather. PVC and vinyl are a type of material that looks very much like leather) indicate that the material may be something other than real leather.

Patent leather may mean imitation leather though sometimes it may mean a certain leather finish. Patent may indicate a material made from a type of vinyl. This does not mean that the seller is trying to trick the buyer, these terms are often used interchangeably. Many people prefer PVC Lingerie to leather and the other way around. Some people like PVC Lingerie due to its shiney, wet finish, its smooth feel or the relative ease in taking care of it. But if you are looking for real leather, make sure it says leather, genuine leather, genuine patent leather, 100% real leather, or something similar. If you are not sure, ask.
