Squirrel-Cottage

My oldest has been gone (gasp!) over 10 years and, thankfully, lives nearby.

Another recently graduated from college and lives a few hours away. I still maintain her bedroom for her - 'cuz it'll always be her room.

Youngest is living off campus year round, but comes home often.

I miss them all and wish I had a few hours back from when they were little so I could rock them and read stories again.

But - I still get to do laundry for the younger two.

It's a bittersweet experience.
Keep having family sit-down dinners with their favorite meals as often as possible.

And decorate for holidays like you did when they were little.

Think about what you treasure about your own childhood and keep traditions that they grew up with for them.

We all need the warm fuzzies from time to time.

(no grandbabies yet . . . )

No tips to offer but I clearly remember what my Dad said as I left "the nest"...

"He's gone, quick honey...lock the door!"
