The rightful kings of rock have returned to blow the world away again
Led Zeppelin was originally formed in 1968 by guitarist Jimmy Page under the name "The New Yardbirds," based on Page's previous band, The Yardbirds. While The New Yardbirds arose at first simply to fulfill some performance commitments booked in Scandinavia before the original band's break-up, Page attempted to create a rock-supergroup out of the new band, which would have been composed of the Yardbirds' own Page and Jeff Beck, The Who's Keith Moon and John Entwistle (who were considering leaving their band), and possibly Steve Winwood or Steve Marriott.
After Page's attempt at forming a supergroup failed, Page filled the band with vocalist Robert Plant, drummer John Bonham and long-time friend and fellow London recording session player John Paul Jones. Page's first choice as singer, Terry Reid, declined the opportunity but unselfishly recommended Plant, who accepted and then brought in his old friend Bonham from the defunct Band of Joy. (read more)

Having seen the band at the height of its power ,
which is a totally unforgotten , awesome , overwhelming experience
and an almost physical & aural assault on the senses !
Dazed and confused being the perfect description !

no longer having a vinyl player to play my Zepp albums on .
I jumped at the chance of having a comprehensive set
of classic Led Zepp tracks ... !!!
Sadly this re-master is the biggest rip off I've ever heard !!
John Bonham would have beaten Jimmy page into a pulp
for what he's done to band , his bass drum which is
the most sampled bass drum sound ever ..
on here .. sounds like a cardboard box being hit with a feather duster .
Its all too clean and lifeless and is a classic example
of fixing what ain't bust ......... just to turn a profit !!
He has performed a total MUSICAL CASTRATION !
Those of you reading this in horror at this desecration .
Need to get hold of the vinyl ..
