Lee Child is a British author. He writes crime fiction and thrillers. The main character in many of his books is Jack Reacher, a United States Army Military Police Major, who after mustering out has been a drifter.

Each of Child's novels follows the adventures of a former American Military Policeman named Jack Reacher who is wandering the United States.
