It's the Zombie Apocalypse. Bring friends.
The game pits four Survivors of an apocalyptic pandemic against hordes of aggressive "Infected" (zombies). There are two game modes: a four-player, co-op Campaign mode, and an eight-player Versus mode. In both modes an AI, dubbed "The Director", controls level pacing and item spawns, in an attempt to create a dynamic experience and increase replay value.
The game is focused on cooperation and team play; colored outlines of teammates are visible through walls to help players stick together and coordinate their movement. If a Survivor falls off a ledge, then they may automatically hang onto it and can only be helped up by another Survivor. (continue reading)

Which of the infected is the most annoying?
We all hate certain infected and sometimes Bill so go ahead and pick whichever one you hate the most. I, personally, dread/fear the sound of the boomer the most. For one, he sounds absolutely grotesque. For two, I'm so twitchy that I end up shooting him on sight. You'd hate me in multi-player I'm sure.

Release day dilemma: L4D or Mirror's Edge
For the first time a good long while gamer's are being treated to a release day with two stunning looking games that are not sequels or franchises. On the left we have Left 4 Dead a 4 player co-op shooter zombie killer simulator. On the right we have Mirror's Edge a free running first person game with stunning visuals.

I'm getting Mirror's Edge because it takes my favorite part of Assassin's Creed and makes it into a game...the free running. L4D's demo was sorta fun, but I'm not sure that this is up to Valve's pedigree.
