7 Types of Correspondence Letters consist of:

-A General Letter to client or other attorneys
-An Opinion Letter which might consist of advice given to another attorney about the Clients Current Case
-Retainer Letter: each attorney should have their client read, sign, and agree to "what they will and will not do" concerning their case; once a client signs this letter then a formal agreement is made between client and attorney and the legal process is approved to start.
-Status Letter: this is where the attorney will say what is going on in the case and explains questions that might need to be answered.
-Demand Letter
-Emails
-Fax

What should be included in the Letter?
-Attorney Letterhead with Current Date and Mailed on that date
- Most attorney's have a letterhead preformatted for emails and faxes; then a check mark is placed if it was sent by mail, email or fax.
- Recipient's Address
-References: or known as the Subject: what the letter pertains to
- Salutation
-Body Paragraphs
-Closing and Signature Block
-References Initials, Enclosures and or copies
