The music from the Legend of Zelda games, as well as the Mario games, is written by Japanese composer Koji Kondo, who is employed by Nintendo. He often works alongside other composers when making music for the games, but the composer in the spotlight is definitely Kondo.

For many people, their exposure to the music doesn't stop after they stop playing the video game. They listen to it just for fun, and some even desire to play it themselves on their instrument of choice.
