Lego Pirates Sets
The Lego Pirates Sets were my favorite when I was a little boy. The Lego Pirates Sets are still popular today and my boys love them. The Pirates Sets were released in 1989 and were the very first Lego men to feature a variety of faces. The pirates brought beards, hair, and eye patches to the Lego Men. Before they all had the same simple head with 2 dots for eyes, a mouth and no hair. Today their is a huge selection of heads for the minifigures. The pirates enemies were Imperial soldiers. In 1992 the pirates enemies changed to soldiers with red coats instead of blue. In 1997 Lego discontinued the pirates despite their popularity. In 2009 Lego rereleased the Pirate theme and it is doing very well.
Lego Pirates Sets: Brickbeard's Bounty
Brickbeard's Bounty includes 2 soldiers, Captain Brckbeard, 3 pirates, the admiral's daughter and a mermaid. It has 3 canons a monkey and a shark. The set has 592 pieces and is recommended for ages 6-12.
Lego Pirates sets: Loot Island
Loot Island includes a pirate, a castaway, a soldier and a hungry crocodile. The set has 142 pieces and is recommended for ages 5-12.
Lego Pirates Sets: Soldiers fortress Prison
Soldiers Fortress Prison includes 4 soldiers, 2 pirates, a row boat, a fish, a monkey and a crocodile. This set has 367 pieces and is recommended for ages 6-12.

Lego Pirates Exclusive Limited Edition Set #6253 Shipwreck Hideout
The Shipwreck Hideout includes 6 Lego Men, a canon, snakes and a row boat. This a Toys R Us limited edition and contains 310 pieces. It is recommended for ages 6-12.

Kraken Attackin includes 2 pirates on a raft and a giant squid (The Kraken). It has 78 pieces and is recommended for ages 5-12.
