What were Throwbots?

Throwbots(known as slizers in Europe), were a subtheme of Lego technic that came out in 1999. It introduced discs (later used in Bionicle) , throwing arms, technic ball&joint pieces (later used in roboriders and Bionicle). It incorperated technic gears, katanas, and other elements. In 2000, the last throwbots were released. Millennium/Millennia could somehow transform from standing erect to a motorcycle. Throwbots came in their own plastic case as well as the roboriders that came in plastic cans, a predecessor to the what was used for some of the bionicle sets only a year later. There discs had circles on them that are believed to be it's power level.
