2006-2008 Batman LEGO Sets
From 2006-2008, LEGOs released 14 LEGO sets and various minifigures based on Batman, Robin and the villains of Gotham City under the license of DC Comics. However the sets were not based on any one version of the famous vigilante superhero. In the sets alone, Batman features blue, black and grey costumes. The various vehicles also appear to be based on multiple versions of the Batman including the classic Batmobile to the more modern Bat-Tank from Frank Miller's 1986 graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns.

In the Warner Brother's 2008 video game Batman LEGO, The Joker, The Penguin, Catwoman, Scarecrow, Killer Croc and more of Gotham City's most infamous villains have broken out of the Arkham Asylum. Gamers can become a member of the Dynamic Duo to reclaim the city in the name of justice. (Or gamers with a more devient side may decide to play as one of Gotham's criminals!)
2008 McDonald's Batman LEGO Happy Meal Toys
McDonald's partnered with LEGOs in 2008 to offer Happy Meal toys based on the LEGO Batman video game by Warner Bros. However the popular Happy Meal toys are LEGOs in name only. The minifigs are much larger than traditional minifigs and do not fit on LEGO bricks. Read more....

New 2012 Batman LEGO Sets
Beginning in January 2012, LEGO will start releasing the new LEGO Super Hero series in collaboration with DC Comics and Marvel Comics. The series will include Batman, Robin, Catwoman, The Joker, The Riddler, Two-Face and Poison Ivy, as well as other iconic superheroes and villains from the DC and Marvel Universes. While this decision may have in part been timed with the July 2012 release of Christopher Nolan's final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, the new Batman sets will be based on earlier editions of the Caped Crusader.

If you need something a little larger than a 2" Batman or Robin minifig, you can make your own Batman LEGO statue. Most of the statues below were created by piecing together thousands of small LEGOs in an intricate pattern. However in 2006, FAO Schwarz offered a short cut for individuals not wanting to take the time to design and build their own. The toy company offered a 6'6" LEGO Caped Crusader with utility belt and fabric cape... for only $27,000. (Reccomended for ages 6 and up!) (See photo....)
For something a little friendlier on the pocketbook, you can also contact Model Gal, aka Mariann Asanuma. A former Master Model Designer for LEGOLAND California, Mariann is now a freelance LEGO artist. (Check out this fun mini Batman, Robin and Catwoman LEGO statues in her Etsy shop.) LEGO statues aren't just for adult LEGO enthusiasts. Evan Bacon, a 13 year-old fan, designed and built a life-sized LEGO Batman for Brick Fiesta. The creation won Best Artistic, Best Youth Creation and People's Choice..., and he got to meet Adam West, the first Caped Crusader.
