Should Len Goodman Retire From Dancing with the Stars?

Len Goodman is one of the pre-eminent dancing judges in the World. He is respected by his peers, competitors and the industry in general.

But, has his time has passed?

For the last few seasons of Dancing with the Stars he has shown he is out of touch with modern dancing, and is too set in his ways.

With respect, perhaps it is time for Mr. Goodman to hang up the judges shoes just as has hung up his dancing shoes.

  • The trans-Atlantic commute between Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing with the Stars is too much for him
  • He gets grumpy too often
  • He seems to take a dislike to certain dancers (e.g. Lacey Schwimmer, Mya)

Len should be scoring the contestants based on how they danced. So many times he is giving them scores based on whether or not he liked the choreography from the professional dancer, which should be irrelevant to the score.

carrie bruno and len just complement each other so well but i do agree that len doesn't like someone party's over for them...case in point-aaron from season 9.how the hell did kelly geo all the way to number 3 ?

Many young people only want young judges--as is only their point of view was important. Some of us older viewer should be represented too. Personally I think Len is the best judge of the three.

Len adds quality and professionalism to the judging. It is no accident he is a respected judge. He concentrates on the technique of dancing rather than pleasing the crowd. If he goes I go and so goes the show!

The show says "DANCING with stars" Len seems to be the only consistent one who insists on "DANCING" competence. Entertaining is fine and I like it BUT in the final analysis it's DANCING that it's supposed to be about. If it's the entertainment which is paramount then lets forget the judging for dance and have a show called "Entertainment with the Stars"

    All of the judges need to be replaced with (real current dancers). Like Louis VanAmstel.....Tony or any of the DWTS dancers that are not performing at the time.

    Who cares. Hire a monkey if you need to. His job is to fairly judge on each dance, not what he would have rather seen the couple do. He is the reason I no longer enjoy watching the show.

    It is about time that this mean man, Len Goodman retire. His name is Goodman, but he is not a Goodman. I hope he will be retired and Maks will replace him and slap that silly boy, Derek.
