Squidoo Addiction

You may not realise it at first. It's subtle to begin with. But after a while it begins to build.

You complete your first lens, you feel proud of your achievement.

Two makes you feel good.

Three makes you feel better.

Four and you feel like a property developer. And you're on the lookout for a short and sweet generic URL that you can sink your teeth into.

Five goes pretty quickly, and before you know it you're at half a dozen. Forget about seeing the world through rose coloured glasses, you're looking at the world through a squid lens.

10 comes along and then a full dozen. It's in your blood.

15 takes forever but all of a sudden you're at 20 lenses, and it's in your dreams.

Where does it stop? When does it end?

Aim for Quality, not just Quantity

If you focus on making each lens the best you can, after a while you'll end up with both. But if all you want is to have as many lenses as you can, the quality will suffer.

Be Original

Be unique. Write from the heart and edit with your head.

Research doesn't just happen at Google

Go to the library.

Look at the books you have in your bookshelf.

Fossick through a second hand bookshop.

Interview someone who is an expert in the field that interests you.

Be Inspired

Around your room, your house, where you live, can be dozens and dozens of ideas.

Maybe you have a DIY project that you've been putting off. Write down the steps and as Just Do It. Take photos as you go along. Then write it all out, mentioning any tips or short cuts, and publish it. Now you've killed two birds with one stone! (Unless you're making a bird feeder, then that old saying is completely inappropriate).

To get your creative juices going I'll post a few select images I've found around the net. You don't have to necessarily use them, but they might give you fresh ideas...
