Stay in touch with lensmasters through RSS Feeds

It's really hard keeping up with new lenses from fellow lensmasters now that Squidoo has changed the social structure.

I don't know if anyone has come up with a better way to see what their favorite Squid writers have just posted, but I am finding Google Reader (other readers would work as well) to be a great help.

I've shared my list on Google. All you have to do is click the link in "Use My Lensmaster Feeds," and subscribe.

Google Reader

If you don't know much about Google Reader, you might want to check it out, and perhaps sign up with it.

I like Google Reader, in particular, because so much of what I do is Google related, and since I'm almost always logged in there, when I want to see what's new, I type in a few key strokes and the reader is open for me to "catch up" with my interests.

Hoping this lens will help a lot of people get back to Squidooing more easily.

Any folks you want to add to your reader, just use this URL format and add their lensmaster name to the end: http://www.squidoo.com/xml/syndicate_lensmaster/

Tip: Lensmaster Feeds

Creating your own list

You need lots of lensmasters in your reader if you want to get enough newly-published feeds in there each day.

Squids don't normally individually publish a lens or more a day, so you'll get various lensmasters publishing on various days. But, not if you don't have a good number of lensmaster feeds in your reader.

Advice is to keep adding to it as you find new folks or remember those you might have forgotten.

Since it does take time to compile a list, I figured it might help to just share my own list with you. I add to this list as I think of folks, but you can ask me to add someone as well. Just leave the request in the comments section or contact me from my bio page.

This is really a great idea MiMi, although I must admit I'm still a bit confused about the exact way in which RSS affects lens traffic i.e. what happens AFTER I've made my feeds list lens (and I just did the other day). Would it be impolite to ask you to add my http://www.squdioo.com/rss-feeds-tamara-kajari to this lens? I guess I still have some learning to do :)

Hi, Tamara: Well, this was more to stay in touch with LMs after Squidoo deleted some things on site that helped us do that... And the RSS feed, I think it's still working. Maybe. Will have to check in to that at some point, but not sure I can get access to it -- I deleted my Google ties as much as possible and just don't use Google or its SE much anymore since they changed their privacy policy... And of course, if this were still viable, I'd be happy to add you to the feed. Will look into it as soon as I can, but think that I probably can't get access any longer and the feed will run on as is into perpetuity. If I find that it is so, I'll delete this page so we can all avoid confusion. Much success with your writing.

Oh, I am SO technologically challenged! I did not even know we had an RSS feed, I think. I tried reading about it once before but I think that was how to add RSS to your lens (blushing). I do love the sound of google reader though- I will try it! I was using Amplify for a while, but I have not been able to log in and they give me a new temporary password every time, now I am trying to keep up just by memory. Thank you so much for including my feed up there!

Thanks for helping me get started using google reader and please do add me to your list when you can, Mimi. Playing with it today and still a bit confused but getting there. crosscreations AKA Carolan Ross

I'm a late arrival to google reader and look forward to learning to use it. I recognize many of my Squidoo pals in your list of lensmasters above, and am thrilled to have found this lens today as you've laid the groundwork for me to begin learning to use these RSS feeds and google reader.
