Bobby "BOOM BOOM" Bickerson was a key person standing at the crossroads of bubblegum history.

He emerged from the shadows to become spokesman for Chewsy Suzy, Susan Montgomery Williams, Guinness World Record Holder for blowing the largest bubble. Together the two made their move on the bubblegum world to create the future of the product, that is, to take it back to it's roots, that which it was created for, blowing MEGA bubbles.

Soon The Gum Blowin' Granny, Joyce Samuels, creator and holder of the Guinness World Record for blowing the largest bubble from the nose was added to the team. But later dissension struck with the rise of a new organization, BUBL, a creation of the team of Dr. Enaught T. Wiseham and Earl "The Gum Bubble Coach" Hartwell (Hartwell having since resigned), who challenged the notion of what big bubbles really were.

It was Bickerson who, realizing both camps held valid points, negotiated a compromise leading to a merging of the two groups into what has become known as the Blowers Of Mega Bubbles, The BOMB Squad.

Soon thereafter, a home for The BOMB Squad was developed on the internet called Bubblegum Heaven at www.bubblegumheaven.com.

From there The BOMB Squad went to work and, to celebrate the 80th birthday of bubblegum on 8-8-08 created The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, with Bickerson being named Commissioner. The contest's goal was to show to the world the biggest bubbles ever blown and to become bubblegum's greatest contest. Since then, at the time this was written, Bubblegum World Champions have been crowned twice and the ten biggest bubbles ever in any non-GWR contest have been blown in the BWC.

Bickerson's goal as Commissioner of the BWC is to continue and complete the quest to create the future of bubblegum that he and Chewsy Suzy, who died tragically shortly after the start of the BWC, first set out to accomplish.
