Hello my name is Eve and I wear a coat of many colors. At one point in my life I worked as a technical writer in corporate America. Unfulfilled by corporate life I became a massage therapist. Then disability came knocking on my door as a congenital defect in my shoulders finally reached a critical point.
After an extensive surgery my doctor restore nerve function to my hand and created a normal looking shoulder. Long story short, while I look normal I am what society calls "invisibly disabled."
However I am a survivor and will never give up. I returned to college and finished my Psychology degree in May 2001. That was a day to celebrate. I'm proud to say I just received my acceptance letter to graduate school and I will be a proud student at Brite Divinity school where I will be in pursuit of my M.Div. I am very excited.
It may sound crazy, but in a way I am grateful for my disability. As a result I have fallen into two passions I would have never known about if not for the limitations of my body. I have a passion for God's people and ministry. And I have a passion for service dogs. More on that later...
