After 22 years in the Elevator industry, Michael Walsh has become an expert in the provision of services and consultations for all types of residential and commercial elevator projects. Walsh is an authority on Vertical transportation installations, performance and maintenance evaluations, building and modification pre-purchase analysis, architectural design plan reviews, bid assistance, equipment surveys, contract reviews and negotiations, risk assessments, safety code compliance and enforcement, union regulation and code guidance modernizations, and providing professional witness testimonies and accident and insurance inspections for attorneys.
Michael Walsh is the owner of three companies in South Jersey. Higher Mobility specializes in residential elevators, Allied Elevator, is a commercial elevator company and Castlehale Consulting, is a vertical transportation consulting firm. Walsh's family has worked in the elevator trade for three generations, but he is the first to be a business owner.
Volunteerism is a huge part of Walsh's life and he frequently lends his expertise and services to those in need. He is an avid cyclist and in 2008 formed the ?Going Vertical? cycling team in Philadelphia. In 2009, he provided elevator consultation and services for ?Homes for Our Troops.? Most recently, Walsh co-founded a non-profit organization with the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local #5 of Philadelphia called ?A Lift for a Vet?; the organization donates residential elevators, lifts, chair lifts and wheelchair lifts along with the service costs to United States Veterans. He is also active with Habitat for Humanity, the National MS society and the American Cancer Society.
Walsh served for four years in the United States Air Force as a firefighter. He was stationed in Alaska, Honduras and New Jersey. While in the service, he completed an Associate's Degree in Fire Science/Pyrotechnics and a Bachelor's of Science in Business from. Michael and his wife Margaret have three wonderful children and reside in South Jersey - Glassboro, NJ.
