Hey, how are you, nice to meet you... pour yoursef a cup of coffee and pull up a chair. I'm just working on a new lens. It's addicting, isn't it? Actually, I should be working, but I keep dreaming that my lenses will one day make me independently wealthy, ha ha.

Hey, how are you, nice to meet you... pour yoursef a cup of coffee and pull up a chair. I'm just working on a new lens. It's addicting, isn't it? Actually, I should be working, but I keep dreaming that my lenses will one day make me independently wealthy, ha ha.
Me? I'm a work-at-home, freelance Jack-of-All-Trades. Yep, that's my "official" title. What does it mean? Ha, well, basically it means I take on whatever little jobs and projects I find that either pay me or interest me. Preferrably both. I do a lot of writing, some photography and different kinds of art. Sometimes teach classes sometimes or offer workshops. The subjects vary, I'm into a lot of things. I also babysitting occasionally. Once in a while my husband and I will take on some work cleaning or repainting/redecorating.
I've always had a lot of interests and hobbies-- Education, religions, the occult, gardening, camping, all kinds of art, especially scrap booking, cooking and decorating-- I made it a career. My mother always said I was a Jack-of-All-Trades; she didn't mean it favorably, but I've made it work for me.
I've been in Florida for about, hmmm, has it been 9 years now? I really love it, right on the beautiful gulf beaches. Originally? I'm from Brooklyn. Yes, New York. Grew up there. Loved it; I miss a lot about New York, but my husband and I had to think ahead. NYC is expensive, and we're not high income. Staying would have meant major sacrifices. As much as I miss Central Park, Broadway, and the NY Public Library, though, we're really happy where we are right now. I've even started getting used to the weather-- now that's growth. Heh heh.
Yeah, my husband works for call centers. He was hoping to take a class to become a radiologist this year, but you know how the economy is going. I'd probably get a regular full time 9 to 5er, except we homeschool the kids.
Oh, I love homeschooling. I can't imagine the schools running our lives anymore. We enjoy the freedom. The kids are doing really well, too. They get a lot of diversity and quality socialization they wouldn't get at the local school. No, it's not for everyone; but it's definitely for us.
Maybe I'll see you soon... probably not Sunday, though. Church. I teach Sunday school and run the Religious Education Committee.
No, I'm not a Christian, I'm a Unitarian Universalist Pagan. Wiccan, specifically. My husband is more your generic Pagan.
No, it's not evil. No, not devil worship. Think of Paganism as the Northern European counterpart to Native American spirituality. Yeah, nature-centered. Yes, I believe in a Higher Power. No, I don't worship the Creation; I worship the Creator. I revel in and show gratituted for the Creation. Maybe you can check out some of my lenses and you'll get a better understanding.
Thanks for dropping by... looking forward to getting to know you. Watch out! don't trip on my McCain-Palin '08 signs on your way out. A lot of good they did, huh?
Why do I have them? Because, I'm a Republican.
No, no kidding. Really.
Well what "type" should a Republican be? Ha ha, maybe I can make a lens and we can talk about that, too, someday.
See you around! Leave me a message if you want to contact me.

- The Holiday Season on a Shoestring!
For years, my working class family has had to be frugal, thrifty-- okay, to be perfectly honest, freakin' penny-pinchin' cheapskates-- during the holiday seasons.
That doesn't mean that we have ever skimped on the holidays-- far from it!
Though...

- Witch Crafts: Magic and Spells
I have been a Wiccan for 18 years. Naturally, being a minority religion, I occasionally get questions: "What do you believe?" "How and why did you become Wiccan?" "What is Wicca?" "Do you worship the devil?" I'm not going to go deeply into these thi...

"The Wheel Turns,
The Power Burns..."
The Wheel of the Year is what Wiccans, some Pagans and Witches call the cycles of the seasons that are eternally turning. Each spoke on the wheel marks a special time. These times are the quarters (the two Solst...

- The Art of Jack-O-Lantern Carving
I fondly recall my earliest Halloween memories: sitting at the kitchen table with my father, squishing pumpkin guts through my fingers. The air is ladenwith the scent of toasting seeds. My dad would let me draw the face.
"Anything," he'd say, "as lo...
