Hi, I was a professional freelance writer for many years. I also developed and taught Creative Writing as well as instruciton on how to get work published.
I had articles published in Chicken Soup for the Country Soul, USAirways Magazine, Grit, Orange Coast Magazine, and many other publications.
Then one day, boom, I just suffered big time burn out with the whole writing deal.
So I turned my love of books into becoming an online bookseller. My book web site is at http://seekthetreasure.tripod.com. I still do that and I love it.
Then, this last year, lo and behold that spark and then fire of craving and creativity for writing raised its head yet again and I was back in the game. These days, aside from still working as a bookseller, I write various pieces, as well as articles and essays online for Helium.com and Associated Content.
I've also stumbled across a promising Internet site called Addsyou that looks pretty enjoyable. And I do articles for ehow.com.
In the meantime, I've developed a short novel I wrote into an e-book, and as soon as I've learned the ropes about protecting script and marketing (I'm almost there now) I'll be doing a lens about that subject here on Squidoo (which I also just discovered...and have already fallen in love with the site).
Since I love "cozy" mysteries I've been working also, for a few years now when I have time, on a manuscript about a small-town cozy mystery set in the Smoky Mountains. My heroine is a 65 year old no-nonsense but kind retired schoolteacher who teams up with her best friend, the sheriff of the locale, to solve various murders and crimes. I grew up in a rural area with many mountains all around and I loved the area.
