About Me

I was in graduate school and working at a hotel in 2002. In that industry, you see many weddings come and go. I could help but dream of my wedding day every time I saw the bride. One day as I flipped through a local wedding guide, I realized that I wanted a big wedding. Problem was that I didn't know how much it cost. After some light research, I realized that the average wedding was $22, 000! This came as a shock because my family did not have anything near that amount plus going into my future as a teacher, I knew I would not have money like that to burn on my wedding day. (Even more hilarious about this was I was no where near engaged or even dating at this time).

So what was a girl to do? I began researching ways that I could throw a wedding for $5,000. That was my number. I began visiting wedding websites, watching wedding shows, talking to brides, and even taking classes all in the name of saving some money and still having an Inexpensively Fabulous wedding.

Now of course I looked crazy to all of my friends because I had my wedding set without a groom to make it complete. That changed in 2003 when I met my now fiancé. By 2006, I was engaged and ready to plan my wedding. With finances even tighter, I took more classes to broaden my knowledge and thought of even more creative ideas to make my wedding Inexpensive and Fabulous.

So while many wedding vendors may laugh in our faces when we give them our low wedding budget number, let us remember that we are here together to make our weddings Inexpensively Fabulous.
