I am a nature lover, a bargain lover, and an organic food lover. Since hearing about urban food finding on the Oprah Show in February of 2008, I have been gathering fresh food for the homeless and keep a little to feed my family. I fill my car up every day with boxes of produce from the bins. And none of my friends know I do it (except a couple very close friends who love the fresh fruits and vegetables). I am a professional person with a Master's degree and a job. I would like grocery stores to donate directly to my organization, but they say they can't because of liability and tax reasons. They give to food banks, but there is still $600 worth of food thrown out daily by the average American grocery store.
