For over 20 years Tony has been writing and recording music. Early on he had the opportunity to meet and grow up with some pretty well known people...like Wes Scantlin from Puddle of Mudd - (check the Park Hill High School Year Books ), Tommy Flood of Banshee (who also played in a band called Primal Order with Lee Jackson of Jackson Guitars) and his oldest friend and first band was formed with Doug Kenworthy, Co-Owner of The Digital Edge Recording Studios back in 1983.
A sort of Gypsy at heart, Tony has been traveling to or from something most of his Adult Life and has lived in the great cities of Bilouxi, MS, Chicago, IL, Kansas City, MO, and Phoenix, AZ. He even spent four years of his life as an over-the-road truck driver where he racked up well over half a million verifiable miles on the Continental U.S. Highways in nearly every State of the Union.
Tony has a coursework towards an Electronics Engineering Baccalaureate, has served in the US Navy as an Electronics Tech, and has also authored titles like The Secrets of Free Radio Advertising.
In May of 2007, on a whim, Tony contacted Alexia Erlichman, a former employee of Tribeca Productions and currently the CEO for MusicGorilla.com, where he negotiated himself a position as an independent contractor serving in an A&R capacity to find and recruit artists for licensing and publishing opportunities, as well some of the largest live label showcases in the U.S. for the likes of RCA Music Group, Virgin, Geffen, Epic, Hollywood Records, Epic, Octone, Disney Studios, Lava, Reunion/Essential and many others. Out of this contract, his internet marketing skills and his natural ear for talent, PlayItForTheLabels.com was born.
In early August, while routinely returning contacts from the PlayItForTheLabels.com website, Tony happened to dial the number of Mike Puskas, CEO of Astral Records and Music in Melbourne, Australia. After a few hours of conversation and several more phone calls like this, Mike and Tony found they had many similar ideas and concepts about ways to change the music industry that was currently consuming itself. Out of these many correspondences the structure for a brand new kind of record label began to take shape and three weeks later, Tony began building the DeadFamousArtists.com website. And the rest, as they say, is history%u2026or so we are hoping!!
From those humble beginnings, Tony is now the CFO and Director of Strategic Content & Development for Astral Records / Dead Famous Artists International with partner and CEO Mike Puskas, their global partners and other subsidiaries spread throughout the world. Tony is the creative and technical element behind the Dead Famous Artists website and in every page you'll find the evidence of both Mike and Tony's vision, along with the passion and love for what they do are doing. Simply said, Tony knows talent when he sees and hears it and can take a step back to objectively analyze in great detail, any artist that is put on his desk from both an A&R perspective as well as a Marketing & Sales perspective.
In his free time, Tony still writes and record music, takes fishing trips when he gets a day off and travels every chance he gets. He currently lives and works out of his home/office in Dallas, TX.
