My Bio
Hello squid addicts! My name is Chryssanthi. I have studied music (Byzantine and European) and foreign languages. I believe that languages and music have many things in common. Hello squid addicts! My name is Chryssanthi. I have studied music (Byzantine and European) and foreign languages. I believe that languages and music have many things in common. They are both vehicles to communication, they have their own alphabet, their grammar etc. I guess this means I love communicating which is partly true, although it is not easy for me to find people whose knowledge of rules of grammar are the same as mine.
The fourth decade of my life has been very fruitful. Some of the fruit I harvested were my love and understanding of tradition. Since I am Greek its the tradition of my country in its various aspects that I cherish. Greece is much more than souvlaki and Zorba the Greek. It's the Country of Miracles as I call it. Under any stone that one lifts there is history, myths, religion, spirituality. There is still the ancient language in the inspired religious poetry, chanted by talented musicians in churches. There are still people with wit and wisdom, people who are still persons and not individuals.
What I am also very passionate with is folk instruments. Some of them are played in villages by practical musicias while others have become a source of inspiration to contemporary artists.
All this is a treasure for such a small and not so wealthy country.
That's how I learned the alphabet. That's why I am so eager to transmit it to others.
In the midst of fast and boisterous modern life let's keep in some secret place of our heart, the one which weaves fairytales, the wealth of tradition and leave the rest to others.......
