I was born and raised in Minnesota. I graduated from Iowa State University, earning a BS in Journalism with an emphasis in broadcasting. Before embarking on my writing career, I spent several years working in the broadcast industry throughout the Midwest. My radio personality was Bobbie Burton, and after several years in small-town rural markets, decided my voice was probably too whiskey and smoke-cured for the hog reports.
Prior to writing "Shades of Darkness, Shades of Grace", I put my journalism degree to work in the field of corporate communications, writing for organizations as diverse as Fortune 500 companies and regional non-profits. Inspired by a true story, "Shades of Darkness, Shades of Grace" is set in Minnesota and is my first published work of fiction.
Currently, I reside with my family in Iowa, where I've continued pursuing writing interests. Last fall my article, "When Smart Authors Get Taken" appeared in the Canadian women's magazine, Mompreneur. In coming months, my short story, Snap Judgment will appear in an anthology published by Infinity Publishing.
Almost every summer, we return to the spectacular beauty of northern Minnesota, spending time on the picturesque shores of Lake Superior. One of Minnesota's many natural wonders; Lake Superior adorns the cover of "Shades of Darkness, Shades of Grace".
