My name is Cathy and I am the designer behind the Seattle based company, CathysWraps. We are excited to be launching our debut collection of vases in fashion forward colors and patterns for this seasons weddings and events and personalized gifts and party favors.
In the early 80's my mother Dolores, fondly known as Doey, loved to decorate churches for weddings. One day, she was told to "stop using those damaging wires and tape" to hang her bows and flowers. So she invented a pew clip and vase that wouldn't scratch the wooden church pews or leave a sticky mess.
While my mother enjoys much success with her pew clips for bows, she had developed an oversupply of the plastic pots. The idea is great, but the pots needed a finishing touch. So instead of tossing them out, she asked for my help.
As a graphic designer, I toyed with ways to bring beauty to these pots and set out to create a stylish decorative sleeve. As luck would have it, I found a stash of paper, containing post consumer waste fibers, enabling us to continue our philosophy of being practical and kind to the environment.
What began as an intention to create something fresh and useful from a plain plastic pot continues to evolve as our customers bring their own creativity to our products. We always welcome suggestions, so please share your ideas, we want cathyswraps to fulfill your needs and your wishes.
