My Bio
I'm a wife, mother and (gasp) grandmother. I have a strong interest in art and design. I spent some time in the 80's freelancing as a commerical artist, and a lot of time raising a family. Four kids, three girls, one boy. My oldest daughter died on August 31, 1997 of metastatic melanoma just 4 months after diagnosis, and 5 years after a mis-diagnosis by a dermatologist. The worst of times. Spent a few months in my pajamas. Finally began to get back to life after realizing in a profound way that my family NEEDED me. It's taken me almost 12 years to figure out what I could do with this tragedy. I've always felt my loss was meaningless if I couldn't figure out how others could benefit from my experience.
After searching for a book to record my daughter's life without success, I've written a journal that anyone can use to write their loved one's story, there are prompts on each page to help. I hope to allow a sense of Peace for anyone who has lost a loved one.
I hope to spread the word about the dangers of the sun and tanning beds and the necessity of your participation in your health care...ALWAYS ask questions, there isn't any question that is 'silly' and it could save your life.
All in all I believe life is good. You just have to figure out how to weather through the inevitable storms that come your way.
Stay tuned, I'm just getting started!
