About Me

GoGreen was developed in May 2006 by David Allsop a driver of a gas guzzleing, air polluting, climate changing 2.4 litre car.

After
owning the aformentioned car for two years our car driver was ready to
exchange his vehicle and started researching many cars. He looked at
size, price, safety, fuel econemy & running costs (oh &
gadgets!). In the process of doing this one car kept coming up and it
met all of the criteria.

Not only did it meet the size &
safety requirements it was in the price range was very economic &
had tons of gadgets. Our man was very pleased with himself. Then he
realised it wasn't a proper car, it was one of these hybrid things. His
heart sank as he realised he was going to have to start his research
again.

Feeling sorry for himself he told his wise wife of his
dilema. She cooed sympathetically and made a suggestion. "why not take
this hybrid car for a test drive? You wont really know until then"

So
not being one to ignore his wife he went to the nearest dealer and
arranged a test drive. The dealer confirmed all of the great points
about the car and then told our gentleman that it had very low CO2
emissions for a car.

"CO2" said our man. "Yes" replied the
dealer "The stuff that is contributing to global warming". "Ah yes"
continued our man trying to sound as knowledgeable & impressed as
possible.

After a successful test drive. (He realised as soon as
he drove the hybrid that it was just like a normal car but cleverer)
our man decided to purchase the car.

On returning home and after
he told his wife, who smiled knowingly. He surfed the internet for
information about CO2 and car emissions. He compared his soon to be old
car with the new car he had just agreed to purchase. The results were
startling his old car used to pump out 204g of CO2 per kilometre his
new car will only produce 104g per kilometre.

Feeling pretty
good about himself he decided to see what else he could find out about
climate change. The results soon ade his good feeling disappear.
Although there were many varying opinions on climate change our man new
the news was not good.

So he set to thinking about what else he
could do. Then the idea came to him what if I could offset the CO2
produced by my car. After more research the considered opinion was that
planting 2 trees a year would offset the emissions of his new hybrid.

The GoGreen pass was born.
