My very first successful web site came online in early 1997 and offered free content to Webmasters and newsletter editors for their use. That site, World Wide Information Outlet (WWIO), was one of the pioneer article databases, a place for authors to write and post their articles to promote themselves or their products/services and for publishers to come and use them.
I have been writing, editing, providing, publishing and marketing with free content since the early 90's. The press release that captured the attention of the media back in 1997 said, "Web site solves number 1 problem for web site owners by offering free content." National and worldwide newspapers and magazines like PC Today, Yahoo! Internet Life and Income Opportunities picked it up. Since then WWIO has been featured on radio, television, in college courses, in national seminars, in several books including "High-Impact Marketing on a Low-Impact Budget", "1001 Ways to Market Your Books" and just this year in "The Ultimate Guide to Electronic Marketing for Small Business" and on popular web sites like CNET's Builder.com.
I took WWIO from a small site offering free content with six writers and a few dozen articles to one that receives over 200 articles a day and has thousands of writers offering up their content. I currently have more than 800 regular contributors to WWIO and other sites.
I've written numerous ebooks and own (and co-own) several online membership sites, authority sites and article directories.
