I like to think that I am at least somewhat interesting, but usually I end up feeling rather average which is okay too. My husband seems to think I'm amazing, so that is all that really matters.

I have a handful of weird things about myself that I would like to share with you. I mean, what better way to get to know someone than finding out what makes them odd.

1. I don't eat potatoes. Really. I don't....

I like to think that I am at least somewhat interesting, but usually I end up feeling rather average which is okay too. My husband seems to think I'm amazing, so that is all that really matters.

I have a handful of weird things about myself that I would like to share with you. I mean, what better way to get to know someone than finding out what makes them odd.

1. I don't eat potatoes. Really. I don't. I eat potato chips and the occasional McDonald's french fry (but it has to be McDonald's, not Wendy's...not Burger King). Other than that, no potatoes. No mashed potatoes. No sweet potatoes. No baked potatoes. I do try something potatoish like every few years just so people don't think I'm picky because I'm not. I love almost all other foods. (Thai food is like the greatest food on Earth. Other people crave Chinese food, I crave Thai food.)

2. My feet get claustrophobic. (Imagine the feeling you get when you walk into a really warm house when you are wearing a really thick coat that zips up and the zipper gets stuck and you can't get out. That is how I feel about my feet.) If I wear lace up shoes (which I avoid as long as I can), the laces have to be really loose so I can slip them on and off easily. So, in spring, summer, and most of fall I live in flip flops. Once it becomes unbearably cold...I'll eventually switch to these black Vans which I have had for at least four years now. This is only one of my reasons for despising cold weather.

3. I have never flown on an airplane nor have I ever learned how to ride a bike. I really doubt that I will ever learn to ride a bike, but I think the lack of flying experience will be remedied within the next couple of months. I'm so excited!

4. I'm painfully shy. It has gotten better with age. It used to be (when I was little) that if a person I didn't know very well even spoke to me, I'd start feeling like I was going to vomit. Now, it is just a heart pounding, slightly sweaty hand, dry mouth kind of feeling. Ugh. Although, get to know me, and I will talk you ear off. I can be exceptionally loud and I have a tendency to talk over people. I blame that on my sisters because I always have to talk over them to get a word in.

5. I'm a Marine wife. Now, why is that weird you ask? I specifically did NOT date guys in the military because I didn't think that I could really handle the way that military families have to live. So, I meet a theatre major (cause that's a whole lot better right?) and what do you know...not long after I realize I'm in love with him, he goes and joins the Marine Corps! But, I'm dealing just fine. I think God has a funny sense of humor. Anyway, he is stationed at Camp Lejeune, so anyone in that area give me a shout and maybe we can meet up or something.

Other random facts: I'm slightly obsessed with the news/politics, I'm overly empathetic, I love to read (dark fantasy and historic fiction mostly), and I am already completely and utterly addicted to Squidoo.
