Thanks so much for the visit to the 1st part of the Big Island Tour and for the wonderful comments you left! I am so sorry that it took me so long to answer them, but I respond to every one of my visitors comments on their bio pages in the order I received them. I have so many that I get back logged. I can only do so many in the time allotted, and unfortunately I do get behind. I have got it down to 100 so I am half way there. LOL.
I am so glad you had the opportunity to see Hawaii before all of the commercialism took over. We use to go to Lahaina every year for the Whalin' Spree. It was pretty drunk out at those events, but a lot of fun. People would dress up like they did back n the days of the whalers and the held contest for the costumes and the facial hair; i.e. beards, mustaches, etc. There were parades and great parties for the whole week. Once too many tourist were coming into Lahaina, the powers that be put a stop to the Whaling Spree.
