Hello, my name is John and my wife and I live in sunny Florida with our 5 kids.
My wife works for a very large corporation that manufactures a lot of the daily kitchen and household utensils found in most homes both in the US and abroad.
As for the kids, 3 of them are young adults already (my eldest works for a subsidiary of the National Health Service in London, England (yes, health runs in the family. The other two are both in their mid twenties. (One is a teacher and the other a chef). My youngest kids are still in high school and keep us busy and our toes.
I have been involved in the health industry for over a decade. As a writer for a number of online publications and as the owner of several websites specializing in the sale of effective health supplemental and nutritional products.
My biggest achievement in my health career is when I was asked by a friend to develop a health routine for his wife who had been diagnosed with a very violent form of breast cancer. When she came to see me, she had been told she had 6 months to live. When she was first diagnosed she was already at stage 4, hence the poor prognosis.
Together we put in place a plan of action combining both alternative supplemental medicine with a diet program and mind exercises. Whilst alternative medicine is now becoming part and parcel of cancer treatment all over our nation, back in the days, they were regarded as false hopes and inefficient.
This plan, together with traditional cancer treatment made it possible for her to live and enjoy life for a 11 more years. That's 11 years more than her doctors had been able to offer her.
My biggest disappointment in my health career was definitely when this lady finally passed away in 2006 finally succumbing to cancer.
My observation of the health industry in our nation is that it is at best shambolic and at worse dangerous. I do not pretend to be a doctor, which I am not but dealing as I do with doctors on a daily basis, I never fail to be amazed by their limited knowledge of what medicine and the human nature is all about.
Going back to the case of my friend's wife dealing with cancer, I realized then that the so called "expert oncologists" are no more than technicians who read through a chart and administer treatment according to this chart.
Even though they were calling my friend a miracle lady as they fully expected her to have diet much much sooner, never did one ask her if and what she was doing anything special with her self to able to keep the cancer away for as long as she did.
The policy of don't tell, don't ask had clearly crossed over.
