About Me: Tonya B., My Life, My Lenses, My Work, My Causes

Geez, I'm so glad you paid me a visit!

My name is Tonya, I am known by quite a few people now on Squidoo as a lensmaster (which basically means that I created web pages on Squidoo). But there are many other "hats" that I wear, including being a mom, running my own business, shopper extraordinaire (boy can I hunt down discounts online!) and I also in my "spare" time champion human rights - especially for children - and work for some really great causes.

I live in Colorado with my son and a great dog named Betsy.

Anyhow, this is all about me and what I do.

Life by TonyaB

(This is the first time I've written anything about my life since grade school!)

The biggest part of my life involves the little man in the photo that you see on the left. He's a pistol! And I love it. :)

I live with him and my dog, who is a Border Collie named Betsy. (She's white with dark ears - one of them pointed up and the other flopped over - almost at all times.)

I am a marketer by trade, but that hasn't always been the case. I was a very busy database software developer, but on the day that my son was born I knew that I didn't want to leave the house anymore to do my work, and decided to create my own business from home.

Part of the work I do is for personal clients, and some of it is online affiliate marketing. As it turns out, these things are what I'm really good at, and it's going pretty darn good.

I like my life.

Lenses by TonyaB: Here are all of the lenses I have created up to this time (March, 2008)

Let's start with Kid Stuff (my favorite):

Fashion Fiend

Fashion For Women, Men and Kids

I have what many people might consider to be "interesting" taste in clothing and accessories - I'm happiest when I'm wearing a pair of comfy jeans, and some cowboy boots. I like other types of clothing too, but this type of thing is what I lean towar...

Natural Cosmetics

(This category is sort of in "baby-hood".)

I also love cosmetics, and at the same time have a strong interest in preserving our planet by using natural and environmentally safe products.

Natural products are better for the body, skin, hair, et al.

Other Stuff

A Bit of a Potpourri

I'm starting to become interested in a trend where fashion and technology are merging. You'll see some of that here, along with other stuff about IM and more.

The Biz and My Honed-In Shopping Skills

Oh, marketing is way too much fun. (I think the fun police may come and get me any moment!)

I do some work for personal clients, as I mention above, which is great. I helped an appraisal company get it's start several years ago and now it has many clients and is doing pretty well now, despite the sinking real-estate market. For these folks (and some others) I do various types of marketing including online.

Oh, but the affiliate marketing is something that I love so much - I practically run to my computer every day to see what's up and add to my collection of online creations. It's fun. Like I said about the fun police...

About the shopping skills - I have a real knack for finding good bargains online, and have used that as sort of the "undercurrent" for my marketing. The theme of most of my work involves not only researching and reviewing products and other things, but also where the heck to buy it online for a really good deal.

I use Squidoo mainly for the purpose of what is called "bum" or "article" marketing. It works quite well for this purpose. I hear over and over from other Lensmasters that it is addictive, and they're right.

I am part of a group called The Wealthy Affiliates. I worked quite a bit with internet marketing before I hooked up with them and since I did the online work is really taking off. Great guys and a great group. This is where I first heard about Squidoo.

My Causes: Human Rights

About Youth for Human Rights International:

Youth for Human Rights is a really fantastic group of kids (yes, you heard me right) and some adults too who educate the public about their human rights. It's a beautiful thing - I support it wholeheartedly, and am a member of it myself.

There are 30 human rights, all given in the United Nations' Declaration for Human Rights. It's a good thing to know about them and to insist that they are held true, because they belong to you - always. :)

Below you can see some videos to get a good feel for what this is about - I've put two of the Human Rights here, and then the final one (#30).

You can find them all at YouthForHumanRights.org.

Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR International)

The Citizens Commission on Human Rights is another group that I strongly believe in. It's also about human rights, but focuses in on Psychiatry's abuse of them and how they go about it.

They have a great website with videos and information that really tell the story - and you'd better have a bit of a strong stomach to see it.

(By the way, if you or someone you know has been diagnosed with a disorder, or is on Psychiatric drugs, this is a place that you should check out.)

Their website is CCHR.org.

There is a video below for that site too.

Here's the Guestbook

Hey, thanks for visiting my Lensography. Glad to have you!

Feel free to leave comments. I'll check them out and publish them as I am able. :)

MarketingSurge

Very inspiring to see someone take on human rights especially children. More of us need to do as such instead of just saying "That's terrible", and turning the channel or our heads like we never saw it. Nice profile pics by the way.

You have a very precious little boy there! Adorable! And I love the idea of including your causes in your lensography. It brings more depth to you as a person. I shall consider it for a future update of my own lensography! :)

Some very interesting and uplifting details and information. It is easy to see that you are a good person with some really great principles. On top of that your work here and with other lenses I've seen are a true asset to the Squidoo empire. Thank you for sharing.
Kind Regards
