How (and why) To Add a Poll To Your Lens

WHY add a poll to your lens?

To find answers to questions you have about your topic (What's your favourite color?)

To add INTERACTIVITY! To get your visitors to buy something (the ultimate interaction with your lens?), you should first try and get them to interact with you and your lens in a smaller way. A poll is ideal.

They can earn you affiliate commissions by using the poll answers themselves as affiliate links to products.

They look cool, and when your total number of votes start racking up.. the poll results show your visitors that your lens is the place to be! I have a poll with over 1700 votes. Anyone voting on it and seeing that total knows they are on a path travelled by many others. And my lens is more trusted because of that.

They're really easy to set up, and can break up your blocks of content quite nicely.
- Although I hate to say it, they will also improve your lensrank as people vote. But this is a smaller benefit compared to the others.
HOW to add a poll to your lens
- Enter the workshop for your lens, so you can edit stuff.
- Click 'Add Modules' top left.
- Click the A-Z tab in the middle of the page.
- Click P, and add your poll!

- I'm definitely going to add more polls to my lenses from now on. It would be a good way to update some of my less visited lenses, too, perhaps. Thanks for the nudge.

- Nice and concise lens, I'll be adding a poll module to my squidoo lens about squidoo now. 9 out of 10 people think that statistics are misleading!

- I was hoping to find some help with the Prediction Module that I just added to my lens. I think I may have done it incorrectly, or used that instead of the Poll module. I did look first in the Forum etc. However your lens is very helpful and in depth, and I'll check it out further. :-) 5* and my faves.

- Polls are great! Ask your readers what they are looking for or what is their greatest obstacle in regards to your topic. Then you can add modules to address those needs.
