In the last months of 2009, the cold and windy days of November and December, Medicinal Plants in Nature celebrates botany and hopes to collect images of edible flowers and rare and special herbs growing wild in the great outdoors. This contest is all about botanical photography and the practice of depicting plants accurately with respect to their form and color. The photographer is asked to provide relevant information to document the plants names, habitats and function. SUe the caption to detail the environment, plant life histories, diseases, the effects of pollution, and relationships with other life forms. Successful botanical photography is as much art as it is science; it requires a detailed knowledge of plants and a keen eye for pictures.

Sponsored by Ontario's premier natural medicine clinic the member that uploads the highest rated photo when the contest ends on January 1st 2010 will take home approximately $330 worth of Neal's Yard Remedies.

Ontario Tourist Attractions photo contest was very well received, with over seventy five photos submitted and almost 3000 registered votes collected in September and October 2009. Congratulations to the winners: Mommakoala in Hamilton, and Slimmswitch in Ottawa
