Leona has always known she wanted to sing and was given lessons from an early age. Her parents have always supported her singing and even now still travel with her from the UK to studios in the States.

Winning X Factor was the start of her amazing musical career, her first song, A Moment Like This, sold 50,000 downloads in the first half hours of being released. In it's first week in the shops the single also sold 600,000 copies.

I think this is even more impressive because the original Kelly Clarkson song is only a few years old and makes Leona someone to watch.

Leona has been compared to Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston as their potential successor. She laughs at this and says it's flattering but she wants to be known for what she does and believes her debut album will finally put these comparisons to rest.

Most of 2007 has seemed quiet for Leona Lewis, but in fact she's been hard at work recording and her latest single has 'Bleeding Love' has just been released and is quickly selling out in some record stores.

Leona's debut album, Spirit, is due mid November and could be one of the biggest selling albums of 2007.
