WELCOME TO THE LEPRECHAUN'S LAIR!
The leprechaun is a mischievous munchkin or Irish imp (whom it is said will reveal the hiding place of treasure if caught).
So, whatever you do, put a big smile on your face whenever you see a cobbler or shoemaker.
Who knows, he just may be a light-hearted leprechaun in disguise (and, you certainly wouldn't want to offend him now would you?)

IRISH TOAST TO A LECHEROUS LEPRECHAUN

May the curse of Mary Malone, her nine blind illegitimate children and a libidinous leprechaun chase you so far over the hills of Damnation that the Lord himself can't find you with a telescope.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN LEPRECHAUNS DON'T EXIST?*!
SO, WHERE DO LEPRECHAUNS COME FROM?

Look, leprechauns may be vertically-challenged green gremlins, but they have nothing in common with cosmic critters from outer space!

LEPRECHAUNS ON THE SILVER SCREEN
Trust Hollywood to come up with the first in a series of five arcane alien adventures aptly entitled, "Leprechaun", a 92 minute "horror" flick made in 1993 about an American who pockets a pot of gold belonging to an Irish imp, (that theme sounds vaguely familiar to history buffs and political pundits alike).Frankly, it doesn't take long for little girls to figure out that they shouldn't be looking for four leaf clovers, kissing Blarney stones, or using their brains to figure out which fairies are worth their valuable time and effort.
Apparently leprechauns that scare the heck out of little girls were such a hit that a sci-fi sequel was created a year later entitled, "Leprechaun 2", (this time patrons only got 85 minutes of screams and snickers).
As if that wasn't enough, the silver screen folks came up with yet another helping of horror in 1995 with the release of a thin plot-line adventure called "Leprechaun 3", set in Vegas where all hell breaks lose of course (including the goofy use of a fake tongue).
In 1997, the weird wee folk were resurrected for the freaky film "Leprechaun 4: In Space", with the tag line, One small step for man! One giant leap of terror!"
And at the beginning of the new Millennium, Hollywood hucksters released yet another version of Irish imps gone off the deep end in a film entitled, "Leprechaun In The Hood" set in Los Angeles (where clover grows...make that the best weed in town).
And if you can't get enough of the giggles and gore, you can always pick up a pot of puckish characters from all these films on a DVD.

FREAKIN' FLY ME THERE FAST!

Leprechauns have no need to fly to the moon and play among the stars...but getting to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, well that's a whole different matter?*!
THE LOW-DOWN ON LEPRECHAUNS
Google search engine lists 2,310,000 pages devoted to an invisible Irish imp, better known as a leprechaun. It's amazing that so many products have been named after something that few folks have ever really seen.
__________
The Leprechaun shown above is a well-known logo designed by Ted Drake for the "Fighting Irish" football team of Notre Dame University.
Let's see there's an Australian virusBusting software by the name of Leprechaun.
Yup, there's even a comfortable motor coach service named Leprechaun Lines offering you an opportunity to "catch the magic" if you please.
Those who don't trust Irish imps behind the wheel, can always purchase their very own Leprechaun, (a rather magnificent mini-motorhome for grand gas-guzzling types).
All manner of sports teams want to cash in on the Irish imp it seems. There's a "Fighting Irish" football team from Notre Dame University with a "Leprechaun" as the mascot. And, there's a rugby team from Edmonton, Alberta named the Edmonton Leprechaun Tigers R.F.C. Last but not least, there's the Leprechaun Road Race held every March 17th in Dublin, Georgia.
Of course if you're into furry fashion wear, there's the Leprechaun Sheepskin Company.
An accidental tourist who's lost or off-the-beaten track can always pop by and take a peek at the The Immigrant Leprechaun Bed & Breakfast in Whangarei, New Zealand, or trot up the Hottentots in South Africa and spend a night at the Leprechaun Lodge.
Of course the only place you're guaranteed to see a real Leprechaun, a Blarney Stone, or a Shamrock is in Ireland. In fact, pack your bags and put on your dancing shoes to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the home of all things "green" at the Loafing Leprechaun pub where Guinness will kick off this special occasion with the World's Largest Toas

MERRY MEMENTOS - FOR LEPRECHAUNS AND WANNABES!
MEMBERS OF THE LEPRECHAUN CLAN
The "clurichaun" is ripsnorting relative of the leprechaun. Not exactly a "kissing cousin", this Irish fairy spends most of his time after his daily chores getting soused with far too much grog. The "clurichaun" enjoys riding sheep and dogs at night,(what else is a surly sylph supposed to do?)
It is reported that if they are treated well, they will protect your wine cellar, if mistreated they will spoil your wine and wreak havoc in your house.
Life Lesson Number 33: Make friends with leprechauns, (they've got better dispositions and they know where the buried treasure is hidden!)
THE LEPRECHAUN'S ANSWER TO VALENTINE'S DAY!
Frankly, a chubby cherub looks like a pretty dangerous dude to hang out with on February 14th. Do you really want to befriend a scantily-clad fellow named "Cupid" who creeps out folks by letting loose his satchel full of bows and arrows not to mention dropping anonymously signed pathetically-penned love letters in people's inboxes? In order to avoid getting bent out of shape by having to compose a sucky-face song or a sweety-pie sonnet on Valentine's Day, the Leprechaun suggests that men don't even bother. And, skip that a big box of chocolates, bubbly bottle of champagne, or bouquet of red roses for female friends or family members...they add unwanted calories and besides, who knows what blessed bugs are lurking in those petals anyway.
Take the road less-travelled, do something entirely different! A word of advice from a fellow who's been led down the garden path by the pixies one too many times ...get a wiggle on and "Kiss the blarney stone"...in Ireland of course!
That way you'll acquire the gift of the gab, and as a bonus, you'll be able to flatter the pants off your boss who'll give you a raise (just to avoid any further embarrassment). Who knows, maybe your golden tongue will, at the very least, make a special someone shake his bippy or her booty all night long! Now doesn't that tickle your fancy, ring your chimes, and make your day infinitely more enjoyable than keeping company with a cheeky chap called "Cupid"?
