Why less traffic is better!

Targeted traffic for better results.

In a perfect world we will all rank #1 on search engines, get tons of traffic from people with a burning desire to buy our products and services and make a million bucks a day without having to work.

But it doesn't work that way, does it?

So we need to look work a bit harder, work a bit smarter and become more focused.

Web site traffic, whether little or lots, is meaningless unless the traffic we get is targeted to our products or services.

This is why we need to work on gaining targeted traffic, rather than lots of traffic. And it doesn't matter whether we get the traffic from search engines, PPC advertising, email marketing or through some other means.

For example: an PPC advert targeting the keyword "homes" may generate a lot of traffic at a high cost but because the keyword is so broad the resulting traffic will probably be meaningless and not convert well.

How much traffic you need denpends on number of factors:
  • the price or average sales value of your product or service - the higher the price the less targeted traffic you probably need,
  • the conversion rate of your web site - the higher the rate of sales per visitor, the less traffic you need,
  • the ease of delivery - the easier it is to deliver the product or service the more traffic, and sales, you can handle,
  • the rate of return customers - the more return sales you make, the less new traffic you need

Before you become involved in the race for traffic at all cost, Take a look at what you offer and try to determine whether you really need all that traffic.
