Has The Tintin Move Finally Found Financial Backing

Paramount and Sony In Talks To Finance Tintin Movie

The Tintin movie has hopefully found financial backing with Sony Picture Entertainment and Paramount Pictures in talks to co-finance the Tintin movie trilogy.

After eventually working out the legal ramifications of the Paramount/Dreamworks divorce Spielberg was desperate to find the backing for the Tintin movie project that he has wanted to make for over 25 years. He approached Universal but they balked at the idea of a partnership on the first of what was hoped to be a Tintin movie franchise.

Paramount offered to fully back the movie with a reduced backend at $135 million for the two gross participants. When the filmmakers held out for a better deal, a partner became a viable alternative. It is now known that both Sony and Paramount are in talks although neither would comment.

Spielberg had first scheduled for production on the first Tintin movie to begin in September 2008 but without any backing leading to the loss of Thomas Sangster as the lead to play Tintin the time frame had to be moved.

If the backing does come do fruition soon then it is believed that the first Tintin film can be completed on schedule so that is can be released in 2010 with the original plan for Jackson to direct the sequel.
The deal being thrashed out looks like that Paramount will distribute in North America and some other English speaking territories, while Sony would handle the foreign release of the Tintin movie thus "Tintin" would have no association with Dreamworks.

Hi tintin-nut, Great lens  I have also created a lens in same niche.Hope u like it . Here’s a brief intro: there is a clear indication that DVD decrypter programs are used in a bad manner such as making illegal copies of movies for sale. But are youaware that there are actually legal situations that allow you to createcopies of the movies you own on DVD? With most movies costing close to$20 each it is quite easy to see why people look for anything they canto help reduce replacement costs. For more details:
