The 4 Questions in The Work of Byron Katie

The Work is a series of 4 questions you can ask yourself when you're experiencing stress. Simply take a stressful belief or judgment and then walk yourself through these questions below.

  1. Is it true?
  2. Can you absolutely know that it's true?
  3. How do you react when you believe that thought?
  4. Who would you be without the thought? (Then can you turn the thought around?)

Doing The Work of Byron Katie on Self-Judgments

Dealing with painful self-talk can be challenging. Sometimes it's tempting to cover it up with positive affirmations or try to brush it under the rug and ignore it. Neither of which deal directly with the stressful beliefs that are there in the first place.

There's a powerful technique you can use when you're applying The Work of Byron Katie to your stressful self-judgments, and it's more effective than doing The Work directly on the limiting belief about yourself.

Here are two blog posts that will help you work more with your self-judgments:

Do I Have to Judge My Neighbor?

And here's the link to a new audio program that will take you deep into the technique of dealing with your self-judgments:

Doing The Work of Byron Katie on Communication Challenges

It can be really frustrating when other people don't seem to understand you, or are arguing with you, and not listening.

Instead of trying to get your partner, boss, friend, or child to change the way they listen or talk to you, you can use The Work to start understanding your own beliefs about the situation better.

A new teleseries The Art of Clear Communication can help you apply The Work of Byron Katie to your toughest and most painful conversations and communication issues.
