We also will talk about fishing gear and wich bait/lures we use, we will tell you wich gear is the best for trout fishing, we came to dis after many years of experimenting and spending time on the water!
A quick tip here; always buy quality gear! it lasts longer and you catch more fish!

Last but not least we have some nice books on trout fishing! And some you tube movies for you to watch directely on the site!

Enjoy! Let's go!

THE TROUT

Trout generally feed on other fish, and soft bodied aquatic invertebrates, such as flies, mayflies, caddisflies, stoneflies, mollusks and dragonflies.
Trout that live in different environments can have dramatically different colorations and patterns.
Trout are usually found in cool (50-60°F, 10-15°C), clear streams and lakes.
We have many Trout species, about 11 or 12 and 66+ sub species.
Today we will talk about 3 types of Trout, my favorites :-)

Brown Trout (Salmo trutta)
Range: Stocked to North America in the late 1800's(mostly from Irland and Germany), it is now found coast to coast with populations in all but a few very southern gulf states
Habitat: Mostly flowing streams and rivers with some lake populations. Can handle temperatures that are slightly higher than those of the Rainbow Trout.

Lake Trout (Salvelinus namaycush)
Range: A fish of the north, the Lake Trout resides in all across Canada. In the United States, can be found in the states surrounding the Great Lakes as well as some populations in the Rocky Mountain states
Habitat: Deep, cold water lakes. Lake trout can live many decades, and can grow to more than 30 kilograms (66 lb).

Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
Range: Anadromous native populations exist in all Pacific coast states, including Alaska. Now widely found in most states, including eastern drainages of the Rockies, Appalachian drainages, and the Great Lake states.
Habitat: Cold water streams, rivers, and lakes, rainbow trout, have an average maximum lifespan of 7 years.

FISHING TIPS

Walk around and watch where the fish is and keep watching them!
Talk to some people, how was the catch, what type of bait was doing good?
How did they fish, deep, shallow, botom, active or passive?

Clothing is something that you need to pay attention to!
Trout have very keen eyesight and detect unnatural colors very easily.
Don't wear bright and colorful clothing! Don't bring unnecessary attention to yourself!

The problem is when trout detect anything out of the ordinary, they will become scare and are much less motivated to bite! I suggest wearing dark and naturel colors. Always bring sunglasses to proteckt your eyes and see better tru the water where the fish is!

Pay attention to your hands, unnatural odors on your hands transfer to whatever bait or lure you might be using and will cost you bites. Some Ex. or; smoking, fill your car with gas, working with your hands in general etc....
Rub your hands tru some gras or some leafs to get rid of the unnaturel odor!

The weather, which direction blew the wind for the last 2 a 3 day's?
When the wind is comming from the south, trout will most likely stay at the opposite side, the north! So when the wind commes from left, trout stay mostly to the right!
Winter, summer? Cold day's they will hunt and stay more to the surface, warm day's they will hunt and stay more deeper.

Try to Fish early morning or early evening. This is when the trouts are most actively
feeding and the temperature is better for trout fishing.

Change your bait/lures and techniques ( deep, shallow, active, passive, ect ) until you find the one for that day!

Always make sure to bring a good variety of bait and lures.
If you don't have a natural bait then present your artificial bait in a way that it will make it look as natural as possible, scent and movement.
Always bring a good multi-tool! Personely i use the Leatherman and find it one of the best around!

When you drag your line up, do it slowly, gif the trout the time to see the bait, smell the bait and catch up with it. Also make smal stops when dragging up your line, this makes the bait extra attractive for the trout to bite. Because naturel bait also make smal stops and don't swim across the water like a torpedo!:-)

Never use a line heavier than six-pound for trout fishing.
When using life bait always use Gang Hooks. Always use smal hook sizes when Trout Fishing, only use the bigger ones when really needed!

Always listen to a OLD FISHERMEN when he is talking about fishing! They always gif you good tips and techniques between te lines!

Be Patient and perseverance!
Spend ass much time posible on the water and practicing your craft!

Use light to ultra light fishing gear!
Buy quality fishing gear! (we will discuss fishing gear in the nex chapter)

Use these tips and GO catch more Trout!
When having success with my fishing tips please leef a
success story on my guestbook, we would love it!
Dont forget!! You must have fun with "TROUT FISHING"

FISHING GEAR

You need good quality and ultra light gear to catch alot of fish!
It's like building a house, good materials make a better house! and this is just as tru for fishing!

Every fishermen has his own point of view about the perfect fishing gear, and that is his good right!
The most important is that you believe in the success of your fishing gear, and than the real fishing success will follow soon!

There has bin much talked about the perfect rod in the world of sportfishing, even experts can't agree on it! My humble opinion says there is only a perfect rod in the head of the fishermen.
With that i meen, in principle you can catch as much trout with a bass rod than with a special trout rod. I say in principle, because when the trout is biting good and you are standing on the right spot, you even can catch a trout with some rope and a self made hook! But iff you would like to catch alot off trout on the bad day's, you need a rod that even feel the smallest bites so you can act asap!

After many years of trout fishing and alot of experimenting i find this the most ideal fishing gear. We have tested, reviewed and still use all of the Fishing gear you see down here!

LURES/BAIT

In the previous chapter i told you that the right fishing gear makes the difference between catching fish and going home empty handed, same for bait and lures!

The mealworm is one of my favorite bait for trout! You have 2 types, the yellow/brown
and the black/grey morio. Mostly i use the morio.
With this bait i have catched trout in any weather and on all levels, to make it perfeckt
i spray the bait with a special scent

The worm, also known as night crawlers are terrific bait for trout fishing.
Rainbow trout loves worms! Presentation is key with worm fishing so be sure, float the worm near the bottom. Dont forget to spray!

This is really a great Trout catcher!
Salmon Eggs is also one of my favorites, make sure you let them float near the bottom.Berkley Gulp! Floating Salmon Eggs

The rest of my bait/lures that i use regularly wil i list down here.
I had many success with these types of bait/lures!
I use all types of bait/lures from BERKLEY because they are the BEST but the ones down here i use most often.

Mepps Aglia Original Plain Spinner
Catches anything that swims. Mepps Aglia is precisely engineered to start spinning the instant it enters the water, emitting continuous vibration and maximum flash to attract all species of gamefish. Blades are constructed of silver plate, polished brass or copper with a plain or brightly colored finish. All brass components are used for durability and precise balance cast after cast, fish after fish.
Berkley PowerBait Glitter Trout Bait
Disperses advanced scent and flavor enhancers with sparkling glitter -- triggering more strikes!
Berkley PowerBait BladeDancer
With 5 natural swimming motions, there's no wrong way to work this lure!

Yum Bio Gamefish Attractant - Freshwater
Bass, walleye, crappie, muskie and trout simply can't resist the natural scents in Yum®. This proven, powerful Yum formulation activates a genetically driven feeding frenzy in predatory gamefish. Spray Yum on any artificial lure or live bait and fish in your usual manner. Be prepared to hold on, because once gamefish grab hold of your bait loaded with Yum, they hold on longer and fight harder. 4 oz pump spray bottle.

Yum TroutKrilla - Pellets
Get ready for an unimaginable feeding frenzy you'll set off every time you cast a line loaded with TroutKrilla pellets. Offering a double-dose of fish attracting power, these supercharged pellets features YUM's exclusive Live Prey Technology (LPT) which stimulates the release of live baitfish enzymes and Krill, an irresistible tiny shrimp-like crustacean. When combined this tremendous formula of LPT and Krill triggers trout instinctive feeding habits. These durable pellets are extremely buoyant and can be fished direcetly in the strike zone with a split shot or Carolina rig.

Berkley Gulp! Alive Leech or Jumbo Leech in Pint Bucket
Float your favorite Berkley Gulp Baits in the ''magic gravy!'' Because these super-realistic Leeches actually ''live'' in a high-octane Gulp! Alive solution, they absorb up to 20% more attractant making them more potent than ever. More scent, more taste and more action - more reasons for fish to pound a Leech. Each super-charged Leech disperses its potent scent like a blood trail in the water, and when the catching is finished; you can simply put them back in the bucket to recharge for another day! 16 ounce, pint bucket.

Berkley Gulp! Floating Trout Worm
Berkley's Gulp! Floating Trout Worms are loaded with Gulp!, the proven trout attracting ingredients that has made Berkley baits the premier choice among trout anglers. The Gulp! Floating Trout Worms offer a buoyant, lifelike design that imitates the features and action of small worms and other trout forage. The Gulp!
