A LETTER TO THE LOFTY

Oh ye of 'little data.' Look up...Wa-a-ay up!!

Dr. Kaku, you said you suspect energy beings exist all around us- would you like to KNOW?

Aka "Dr. Quantum"

THE FOLLOWING QUOTE, by Albert, addresses an aspect of Quantum Mechanics that I believe virtually all theorists agree upon:

"One of the important innovations of Quantum Mechanics is the realization that it is not possible to observe something entirely passively. The physical process of making a measurement has a very profound effect on the observed." (Means, the person performing the experiment and determining the results affects the outcome of the experiment- no matter what!!)

He continues, "There is no kind of technological advancement that will eliminate this effect." (Means, doesn't matter what equipment you use or how hard you try NOT to influence the experiment, you always will- NO MATTER WHAT!!)

Furthermore, he asserts, "The active agent (the observer's consciousness, intention or will) probably has very little to do with the outcome." Maybe, maybe not- jury's still out on that one.

HOWEVER! I happen to have evidence to the effect- The system under observation may quite possibly be consciously interacting with the experimenter!

I cite the following:

I fire-up the laptop and begin passing the Bose noise-canceling headphones around to each of the 7 participants. Coming to a recording garnered during a session in my parents home with a spirit medium (who happens to be a relative), I hear the recorded voice say, "She was a broken woman." (Yes, some recordings have a 'layered' quality or questionable syntax, but not this one...also, it is possible to hear the recordings outside Bose headphones while someone else is wearing them- and that night the entire group heard every play)

One by one, each person hears the same phrase, "She was a broken woman." The facial expressions are priceless! Eager to share the experience, a friend of ours dons the earphones. Listening intently, she shakes her head. A second play elicits the same response. Pulling the phones off she exclaims, "I hear it, but it's not saying what you said...the voice says, "This daughter is ungro-o-o-med!" Needless to say, we listen carefully as the recording once again plays, "This daughter is ungro-o-o-med!"

Of course there is absolutely no way you could confuse one phrase with the other, the syntax is totally different- but there it was. Bemused, we all take another turn and low and behold the message changes for each of us to, "This WOMAN is ungro-o-o-med!"

My husband returns from running an errand, slips the headphones on and we all hear, "She was a broken woman." "Listen again!," I insist..."This woman is ungro-o-o-med!," courses through the phones. We all laugh. (My friend's deceased father was very fastidious about his appearance- she, however, wears her hair in an ultra-casual, tied back style. She presumes he's weighing-in.)

The message has changed back and forth many times since, always in reference to a female. One male friend heard, "She wears a broken ring." His sister-in-law had had an affair. I now hear, "This woman is not broken."

The message is on a sound program on my laptop- a closed system for all intents and purposes. It was saved as a .wav file. I copied it and saved it to an mp3 file to upload to my listening site. It's a commonly held notion that saving to mp3 causes a recording to be stabilized. However, almost immediately another friend remarked she'd heard, "This woman is ungro-o-o-med!" She, too, exemplifies a very casual style.

BUT WAIT, GETS EVEN STRANGER:
I have, on occasion, accidentally moved the recorder during the process and have later discovered messages concerning said "bump" to the effect, "Don't move this!" "Do that again and we won't continue speaking this way." "Hey!" etc.

(Which naturally leads one to believe they are actually IN the device at the time!!)

THIS ONE'S STORY LINE FODDER FOR THE POPULAR SITCOM, "THE BIG BANG THEORY."

Recording of a New Year's Day dessert get-together contains the message, "A universe so open." Simple soul that I am, I had no idea to what the distinctive voice alluded, so I Googled the term 'Open Universe.'

Apparently Thermodynamics Theory suggests 3 possible systems at work in the universe. (1) OPEN: Matter flows freely, unimpeded, throughout the Universe (2) CLOSED: There are boundaries that prevent the uninhibited flow of matter. (3) ISOLATED: Areas exist within which the flow of matter is restricted.

And the winner is...NUMBER (1)!!!
