Traditions of writing letters to Santa Claus
When I was raising my brother and sister they too wrote letters to Santa. Often writing the letters would suggest if the child was good or bad, and also they would give "heartfelt" hints as to what they wanted as gifts.
I was watching a Christmas movie the other day and it was about a child who wrote a letter to Santa anonymously and felt this was the only way she could get attention from her parents. It amazes me how the letters to Santa usually are filled with request for electric toys oppose to dolls and trains. But this lens is not about that, it is a resource where children can find addresses to write to Santa and yes, even in these modern days I found an email address where you write to him.
There is still time so if you have not written your letter yet try to do so as soon as you can. Remember to always be polite and say please and thank you (Santa really likes good manners). Do not be disappointed if he does not deliver everything on your list, or if he gives you something different than you asked for. Because the most important thing to Santa Claus is to make sure you do have a few gifts on Christmas Morning. He does try very hard to make your wishes come true, and since you are so polite, your bright smiles on Christmas Morning is the most precious thing to him!!
Hurry now, go write those letters and get them in the mail!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town
You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
He's making a list
And checking it twice;
Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!

An Angel Box
When I was a little girl, I always wanted to be a Brownie or a Girl Scout. But because of finances I was never allowed to join either, not to mention we were never in one place for very long. One time during our stay in a little town; I attended a Sunday School Class and they were having a "Mission Weekend Camping Trip"! I had never been camping before so I did not have one piece of camping equipment, but the people sponsoring this Mission Trip had extra supplies so they had stuff I could use. I cannot remember if there was a charge for the weekend or not, but somehow I was able to go. I earned a little Mission badge to sew on my shirt, and it was one of the proudest days of my life. When I was exploring around Squidoo the other day, I noticed that Jewelsofawe had written a lens called: The Path to a Mission. This is a blurb in the opening of the lens:
This lens is about my daughter and her mission trip she wants to go on. It will be on the island of Kauai in Hawaii.
She goes to a Christian school and she is trying to get enough money to go to this mission with some of the students at her school. The trip will be in March. She is doing a number of different things to earn the money to go there.
They will be going to a small school on the island. They want to spread the Word of God.
The second I read that opening, it took me back to the day when I went on my Mission Camping Trip. Then my thoughts went to - Wouldn't it be wonderful to try and help Jewels daughter raise a few extra dollars, and what better way to do that then to put up an Angel Box and have Santa Claus spread the word!! The link is: The Path to a Mission If you get a moment, please stop by and take a look at it. It sounds like a wonderful opportunity for child for so many reasons!!
Merry Christmas!!

I want all of the Bionicles that I don't have. That is the red one, green one, white one, and the blue one. I hope you will still have them. How is Rudolph doing? I hope you have a Merry Christmas!! I am 6 years old. Please make sure that all the boys and girls in the world are happy this Christmas especially those in countries where there is war.
Love,
John!!

Dear Santa,
I am so excited about you coming to our house this year. We have put up the tree and the stockings. I think I have been a good girl this year. I hope you bring me a Barbie Singing Machine this year. I also hope that you can bring my daddy home for Christmas. He is in the Air Force and he is off fighting the bad people that hurt our Country. It would be very nice to have him home for Christmas. I will leave you milk and cookies again this year because you seem to really like my mommies cookies. I hope you stay warm and safe on Christmas Eve.
Your Friend,
Morgan

Dear Santa, My name is Cheyenne and I live in ___, MO. What I would like for Christmas is for my dadddy to make it back home from the Persian Gulf He is over there on the USNS Saturn. DEAR SANTA, MERRY CHRISTMAS! I HAVE BEEN GOOD AND BAD THIS YEAR, BUT MOSTLY GOOD. SANTA PLEASE TAKE ALL MY TOYS AND GIVE THEM TO THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. THEY HAVE LOST SO MUCH ALREADY. AND, FOR MY GIFT, I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE PEACE ON EARTH. PLEASE TELL MRS. CLAUS AND ALL THE ELVES AND REINDEER I SAID HELLO. I WILL LEAVE YOU MACARONNI AND CHEESE AGAIN, YOU ATE IT ALL LAST YEAR. PLEASE STICK IT IN THE MICROWAVE. TAKE CARE SANTA, I LOVE YOU! RITA

hey santa,
there is only one thing I want for Christmas. in march of this year I put my dog to sleep. she was my dearest companion and this is the first Christmas without her and I would really appreciate if you could let her know that I love her and miss her a lot and no matter how many dogs I have in the future she will always be the first in my heart. If it was possible that you could bring her back that would be awesome but you can't. so I would just like another dog cause this will be my first Christmas without a dog.
Thanks a million!
love always/ Britta

- Yes, it is an amazing tradition which we pass from a generation to another.
When I was a kid I wrote and re-wrote my letters entire November, I had to stop in December.... because the letters need time to get to Santa... It was a joy to be a kid in my generation.
Blessing to this sweet lens
