The Libera Choir is a hugely popular boys choir. This is a fan site and introduction to The Libera boys choir. They are a hugely talented and world famous choir based in London. Libera means free and the name relates to the Libera Me portion of the Requiem Mass.
They are a favourite of the Pope and have travelled the world, recently completing a sell out tour in Japan, where they are extremely popular. The choir is made up of boys aged even to sixteen and its size varies from about to sixteen to twenty four members.
The choir is essentially based on members of the parish choir of St Philip's and is a not for profit organisation that began its 'commercial' life way back in 1987 featuring on the Sal Solo song San Damiano. Their collaborations have involved them working with people like Elton John, Neil Diamond, and singer Aled Jones and their singing has featured in films such as Twelve Monkeys, Romeo and Juliet and Hannibal. They have an extensive discography and as older boys leave the choir they take on mentoring roles for the newcomers.
